At the moment, there is a very limited choice of quality and durable aftermarket backpack for the phantom 4. Although the P4 does come with the supplied cooler case, surely that will not last very long if you plan to use it frequently. The manufacturer Bestem Aerial has listened to my input and released a specific phantompak P4 hardshell backpack specifically for the DJI phantom P4.

I love to travel with my P4 and I generally like to hike and bike to remote places to capture those magic moments. DJI’s Phantom 4 fit this role perfectly, however, I’ve found that the DJI turtle shell case was limiting in term of storage ability for my use and not very durable either so I recently ordered this phantompak after being so impressed with the inspirepak. My full review for inspak is here.

From the moment I unpacked and saw, touch and feel the phantompak, I was truly impressed. The phantompak is ultra compact, extremely light at only 5.4lb, tough and built to a high quality standard. My wife’s comment was to the effect “you’ve finally got a classy backpack” as compared to the toy like DJI’s turtle shell.

What lured me to phantompak is my love of travel and portability. The P4 is the perfect machine for travel as compared to the inspire 1. This backpack is engineered to provide ample space for all the gear and accessories while remaining rugged and reliable enough for extended excursions over rough terrains. The fabric material is made from highly resilient, water repellent 1680D nylon construction to keep the internal gear safe and dry in any environment. This is the same proven material as some Samsonite suitcases and motorcycling touring bags.

Rubberized Weather – Resistant Zipper is used to provide a water tight seal and flexibility during transportation and help reduce the risks of the zipper tearing apart during your travels.

The super heavy duty shoulder straps are fully adjustable and widely padded for the ultimate comfort.

The phantompak Hardshell Backpack is in the form of an EVA shell. Amazingly it weights in at only 5.4 lb and measures 19.5″ x 14″ x 9″. Best of all It is fully compatible with both Phantom 1/2 and Phantom 3 and 4 and comes with a 10 Year Warranty. This pack will outlast your phantom.

The Phantompak has a genuinely spacious interior allowing you to customise storage space for all your accessories. An illustrated layout is included for easy configuration. The original design has space to hold 2 extra batteries. Ive made a simple modification to the case and now it can hold up to 5 additional batteries in addition to the one inside the Phantom.

If you have an OSMO, there are spaces for it too and it will provide full protection for the delicate gimbal.

Due to its compact, light weight and classy good looks, it will make a perfect companion for your air travel as carry on baggage. It does not scream “look at me” to the TSA agents like a DJI turtle pack would (I’ve experienced it many times going through customs and security). I can carry all the equipments I’d ever need in this back pack and carry on with me onto the plane making checking in and out of airports much faster. With the DJI turtle shell, I had to pack a second separate bags for all my other essential accessories on my international travels. I love it’s stealthy and elegant outline. This will definitely be my go to carry on bag from now on.

If you are looking for a compact, light weight, elegant and quality backpack for your phantom 1, 2, or 3 and 4. I would highly recommend the Phantompak to meet and exceed your expectation.

Enjoy and safe travels.
